💡 From a Joke to a Patent: The Birth of the Anti-Snag System
In 2013, I got into the thrill of lure fishing, and with it, the inevitable frustration: the best-looking spots often became lure graveyards. During a trip to Terengganu, a friend jokingly said, “Go invent a lure that doesn’t snag, but still catches fish!”
At the time, with no existing reference data and materials scarce locally, the concept was met with ridicule; many called it impossible. But weeks later, watching a documentary on stealth aircraft and its principle of “hiding the weapons,” the idea clicked: what if a lure could hide its hooks?
🛠️ The Solitary R&D: From Failure to Breakthrough
That single idea led to years of solitary, late-night R&D. I faced immense financial and emotional pressure alone, tweaking hydrodynamics, magnet placement, and hook angles through countless failed prototypes. I persisted because I believed the right design could make fishing safer and more eco-friendly.
Eventually, MAGAS™ (the Magnetic Anti-Snag System) was born. During the cast and retrieve, magnets keep the hook cleverly tucked against the body, dramatically reducing snags around grass, wood, and rock. On the strike, the hook instantly pops free for a clean, secure set.
